Being at work can cause a lot of stress, even if you love your job! You’ll have deadlines to meet, emails to send, and targets to hit – but they aren’t things to put your health and well-being at risk! We have ten simple tricks for you to relieve stress at work, and they all take less than a few minutes to do!
If you’ve been sitting at your desk for hours at a time, make sure you stand up and stretch. Stretch those legs, stretch those muscles, and let your body breathe!
An office can get hot and stuffy, so make sure you find some time in your day to head outside and clear your head and your lungs!
If you’re worried about the hundred things you have to do, make sure you jot all your tasks down on a to-do list. This keeps your organized and gives you direction. Like they say, failing to plan, is planning to fail!
After you’ve completed a job on your list, make sure you grab a marker and cross it off. The feeling is amazing, trust us. Remember to congratulate yourself, you did a great job!
Sometimes our energy levels are low, and that makes us less productive at work. Have some healthy snacks in your drawers to keep you going throughout the day. Nuts or grapes are great things to snack on.
Keep yourself hydrated! Drink plenty of water, or even tea! Keep a one litre bottle at your desk and aim to finish at least three of them per day!
Staring at your computer screen for hours at a time is damaging to not only your eyes, but your mind. Take a few minutes to pull out a notepad and just doodle away!
Sitting in silence at work can be boring and make the time go even slower. Make sure you talk to your colleagues, and interact with them. After all, they could very well be in the same position as you.
Liven up your desk with a plant, or pin your boards with photos and pictures. If you’re sitting in a dull environment all day, you’ll never feel motivated to come in in the morning.
10. Listen to music
If all you can hear is the sound of fingers typing furiously on a keyboard all day, plug in your headphones and listen to your favourite songs. It’s a great way to focus and calm yourself down.
Remember: Breathe in. Breathe out.
