New South Wales is blessed with some pretty amazing food, wine, music and art around every corner, and is home to some of the best Australian festivals in the country! We’ve put together a list of our top 5 favourite Australian festivals in New South Wales to inspire you to get out and get festive!


 

Hunter Valley Wine, Food and Film Festival

Held over two weekends in May, this glorious Australian Festival is a celebration of food, wine and film. Presented by the crew at Around Hermitage, the festival has been running for three successful years and inspires a series of local events that involve dining, drinking and film watching!


 

Byron Bay Craft Beer and Cider Festival

If you love your craft beer and cider then you’d better get to Byron Bay during the first weekend in May. The festival team is made up of folk from The Sun Bistro as well as 20 of the best craft breweries around the country. Epic. There’s more to the festival than brews, however! You’ll get an opportunity to taste local mouth-watering ‘beer-food’ and listen to an array of live entertainment.
 

Merimbula Jazz Festival

This is one of the most unique music festivals in Australia and has a wholesome history dating back to 1981. This Australian festival will be celebrating its 38th year in 2018 with an array of jazz musicians and bands set to perform in June this year! Here’s a bit more info on this quaint little town. Splendour in the Grass, Byron Bay

If you haven’t heard of this epic music festival then we can only assume you’ve been living under rock! Come for the amazing line up of performers covering an array of genres from in bands, solo artists and DJs and stay for the food, art and culture.

Sydney Film Festival

Each year the Sydney Film Festival (SFF) takes place at the State Theatre in Sydney as well as various cinemas around the CBD, Cremorne, Western Sydney and Newtown. This Australian festival exhibits over 200 films that aren’t played in regular cinemas and is a celebration of ‘the greatest, strangest and most exciting new films’.
